Dr. Francesco MARCHI is Adjunt Professor of Political Science and Negotiation at the ESSEC Business School. He is the Director of the “Negotiators of Europe” Research and training program at the Institute for Research and Education on Negotiation (ESSEC IRENÉ) . He regularly delivers training on negotiation in several European institutions and EU bodies (European Commission, EEAS, Council) and several diplomatic academies in Europe and East Asia. He teaches a course on Negotiation at ENA, a course on European Negotiation at the Master of European Affairs of the Institut d’études politiques of Paris (Sciences Po) and at the Master of Global Politics and Euro-Mediterranean Relations of the University of Catania (Italy).
He holds a PhD in Political Science from the Institut d’études politiques of Paris (Sciences Po) and his research focused on the constitutional Convention chaired by Valéry Giscard d’Estaing and the negotiating behavior of governmental actors. In this framework he was a visiting research fellow at the CEFRES (Prague) and the Instituto Affari Internazionali (Rome) within the CONNEX and CONSENT European networks of excellence. He holds a MA in European Studies (with Honors) from the Ecole doctorale of the Institut d’Etudes Politiques in Paris and a Laureate in Political Science and International Studies (Magna cum Laude) from the Faculty of Political Studies of Catania.
